This year, A Corner in the World launches Corner Pro: a professional meeting gathering artists, presenters and cultural operators living, working or engaged in the region.
This Corner Pro meeting aims to open common and positive thought process on issues artists from Turkey and the region have to face, should they be artistic, political, social or cultural. This meeting should eventually be a real lab providing space and time for dialogue but also inspiration to open new visions on innovative and creative possibilities.
On its first year, Corner Pro wants to give visibility to independent performing arts initiatives and artists living and working in Istanbul, as well as to present their work to international professionals.
Corner Pro also aims to become a platform for the exchange of ideas, presentation of practices, but above all a space to meet the other and let the barriers fail. In this frame, two lab sessions is organized to let people gather, reflect and work together on general topics as mobility, networking and funding of artists and cultural practitioners from the region.
